Douglas A4D-2 Skyhawk (BuNo 145006) of attack squadron VA-83 Rampagers is refueling a Vought F8U-1P Crusader (BuNo 146829) of photo reconnaissance squadron VFP-62 Fighting Photos. Both squadrons were part of Carrier Air Group Eight (CVG-8) aboard the carrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59) in the early 1960s.
Note: The Skyhawk BuNo 145006 crashed 18 km (10 nm) astern of the USS Forrestal on 16 November 1962. The pilot was killed in this accident.
